7-13 Plan A – Always the most hard fought encounters of the year vs FC and this week was no exception. We came out of the blocks well and largely controlled possession and field position. Only a lack of discipline allowing FC to take a 6 point lead into half time and we were unlucky not to have at least one try heading into the break. Second half we came out and dominated the opposition - in particular dominating them at their much beloved scrum - with the backs capitalising with a nicely worked try to Dav to put us up 7-6. Ultimately though it was FC who got the chocolates with a (...flukey...?) long range try right at the death snatching victory from us with the final score 13-7. A heart-breaking result for Plan A given we showed that we are clearly the better team over 70mins. No doubt there will be some Nervous Nelly's in that FC squad if we play them again in the Finals - I have total confidence heading into the pointy end of the season that we can get that one back, on the biggest stage. We rest up, we feel the burn from the loss and we reset for a finals push. Result aside, a substantial showing by Plan A that will be felt by our opposition.
Even in defeat all three teams showed their character at the weekend. That said, the pain doesn’t go away and it’s important we channel that as a positive driver into our next set of games as we look to Grand Final games for A and B and a Divisional win for T3
