12-24 T3 – Great show of respect and comradery both teams stood in line for a minute of silence. The calm before the storm. Tough battle we said, tough battle it was. F.C. came up with a very strong pack of forwards and very soon dominated the scrums. They won the first quarter. As everyone embraced the Typhoons spirit, we started to organise ourselves and fought on every lost ball, on every ruck, on every ball in hand attack, and after a few attempts on their line we sent Patrick over the line for a try that would show F.C. that a Phoon doesn’t give up. The second act was quite balanced but they turned our mistakes and momentary loss of structure to score a few. On the left wing Régis slid through the defence and went over for a try under the post on likely his last game with the Phoons. Show off! At a point in time we were just 5 points down and we thought we could make it. But they were more consistent than us and scored again. Final score for a very hot and bruising day game 24-12 for the home team.
Even in defeat all three teams showed their character at the weekend. That said, the pain doesn’t go away and it’s important we channel that as a positive driver into our next set of games as we look to Grand Final games for A and B and a Divisional win for T3.
