Nick VP

Nick died of cancer on Feb 20, 2010. We drank Guiness in his memory after the game against City 7 on Feb 27. Here is a tribute to him in Rugby Asia: http://www.rugbyinasia.com/feature/659/a-man-for-all-teams

Nick played for the Typhoons for 2 years and he designed a truly colourful team strip for us in 2003-4. We never claimed him as our own. He played for so many others but we certainly enjoyed his company, and he lifted the team even when he arrived late (having played for Kowloon or some other outfit) carrying a half drunk can of Guiness. The bio on the Phoons site for Nick VP read:

The original caveman, the true rugby whore, a prop that claims to be a fly half. Probably the only Phoon who lasts for more than two games a day. Often seen in bright pink-yellowish shirts which he designed himself.

That was Nick VP.
